Moore Community and Students Build "Kidsplay"

Moore Public School student groups joined with other volunteers to construct "Kidsplay", an extraordinary tot-lot playground structure.

Materials were furnished by private donations and by the City of Moore.

Volunteers comprised the entire work force to complete the project.

Students of all ages worked alongside adults, learning about job organization, work delegation, and community service.

Students volunteered singly and in school groups to work different task shifts.

Students from many Moore Elementary, Junior High, and High Schools participated. Thousands of "man-hours" were donated by these dedicated volunteers.

The project was completed in late Spring 2000, and provides a quality playground for children ages toddler through early Junior High.

Engraved fence slats commemorate the volunteer laborers.
