The Moore Public Schools Foundation for Academic Excellence held its first fund raising golf tournament in August, 2001. The tournament was a rousing success, netting nearly 10,000 dollars to benefit the students of the Moore Public Schools.

More than 20 teams participated in the event, which began with a continental breakfast, served by Panera Bread Bakery and Cafe. The tournament began with a shotgun start at 8:30. The golf round was followed by an awards luncheon sponsored by Harry Bears All-American Restaurant and Grill.

Proceeds from this Foundation fund-raiser are deposited along with funds from other sources. Income from these deposits are distributed in the form of grants to teachers for novel schoolroom projects..
