Electronic Field Trips
Multimedia presentations presented by The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Students have access to television presentation augmented by a special web site. Broadcasts are interdisciplinary lessons in math, history, science and reading.

Give Them the Moon!
Thematic motivational avenue to develop student's understanding of space and NASA. Activities include night star gazing, rocket building and model space stations. Guest speakers are planned.

Wrapping with Math
Upper elementary students learn and re-enforce multiplication skills using a "rap" format. Materials include "Wrap-Up Multiplication Manipulatives" and Three-corner Flash Cards.

Shoe Box Science
Upper elementary students will set up and organize a Shoe Box Science Cart, containing up to 30 hands-on activities. Activities will include earth, physical, and life sciences areas.

An Ocean of Information
A one month project involving traditional and nontraditional classroom work studying the ocean. Included will be ocean sounds and sights. A visquene bubble depicting ocean environment will be constructed by students.

Science at your fingertips!
Use of science "exploration kits" containing objects to explore magnets, light, colors, water and mirrors. Kits will be used throughout the year during independent time.

Write On
Students will experience the fun of language through various literacy games. These games require students to think creatively, and build reading, language and spelling skills as they learn cooperatively with peers.

Multicultural Art Explosion
Different grade levels will participate in art projects representing a variety of cultures. Grant funds are used to purchase nonstandard materials from Mexican Clay Pottery to Totem Poles. All grade levels are involved.

Build-A-Word Cubes
Hands-on phonics activity using cubes containing different letters, blends, digraphs and diphthongs. Students mix and match the cubes to form words.
