Grant Application Guidelines
This information provides the Grant Committee the
data necessary to judge each proposal (proposals are reviewed on a blind competitive
basis.)
Criteria Used to award grants:
- Are objectives clearly stated, are they realistic and worthwhile?
- Are the project activities clearly described?
- Are methods, materials, personnel, schedule and completion date specified?
- Are evaluation plans suited to the project's nature?
- Is the budget reasonable and sufficiently detailed?
- Is the proposed project innovative?
Additional favorable factors include:
- Projects involving collaboration with community groups and businesses.
- Proposals incorporating matching funds from community or otherwise outside
sources indicate commitment and increased effectiveness.
Utilization of project funds:
- Funds must be spent and projects completed within the designated school
year.
- Final reports and financial statements are required.
- Grants may be for any amount up to 500 dollars.
- Purchase requests should not conflict with district responsibilities or
purchase plans.
Allowable grant fund usage:
- Equipment or materials needed for the project provided the item(s) is an
integral component of a larger strategy. Equipment must not be an end in itself.
- Outside consultants and experts but only if their input is essential to
the overall project objective. Resource personnel that work with the students
involved are favored over those that advise the teacher only.
- All purchases become the permanent property of the Moore School District,
but may remain with the awarded teacher as long as that teacher remains with
the district in a teaching capacity.
Interdisciplinary or team-taught projects are encouraged.
Projects should pioneer new approaches and not merely repeat previous projects.
Foundation members may make periodic site visits to review project schedules
and goals.
